Say hello to this month's ILEA member spotlight, Bri Morris!
• How long have you been a member?
I became a member this year in March after going to a few events at the end of 2022!
• What company or organization do you work at right now?
I'm an Event Services Coordinator working closely with Detroit Grand Prix Association volunteers, overseeing implementation of the event parking plan, and supporting various day-to-day office and event operations.
• What career advice do you live by? Who gave it to you?
The career advice that I always come back to is "It's not always what you know, but who", which one of my college professors Tim Otteman told us. He explained to us that it won't always matter what you know, or if you're the smartest person in the room for that matter--it will rely on the relationships and network that you've built for yourself.
• What excites you the most right now?
• Although I love the rush of the busy summer events season, currently I'm most excited to spend time with family during the holidays, take some time to rest and relax, and perhaps even learn a new skill or foster a new hobby! As much as I love what I do, balance is essential for my lifestyle!
• Best restaurant you’ve ever been to?
• I don't brag often because it's so far away, but at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, GA there's an Italian restaurant called Bellina Alimentari that has the best pasta you'll ever eat!
• A recent movie you watched that blew you away.
• Along with the rest of the world, I saw the new Barbie movie over the summer and was completely moved by the message that it gives to young girls. Growing up with Barbie, it was refreshing to see the role renewed in such an empowering light!
• Fun fact that people probably don’t know about you!
• A fun fact that people don't know about me is that I'm an identical twin--If someone thinks they see me in public and I don't acknowledge them, you're most likely face-to-face with my clone! 😄
